Playing the devil's advocate here, I believe you are admitting Schaivo was functionally dead because she had a severely diminished brain capacity. Applying that reasoning, one would argue that a Fetus has no brain capacity in the early months from conception. Thus a Fetus is no different then Schaivo was (dependent upon mother for feeding tube, no ability to rationalize etc.) Remember, I am only playing Devil's advocate to demonstrate how complicated this matter of abortion is under MANS Law. For these reasons, I think the govt. should stay completely out of the fray. jdn
