The hurricane center's lead forecaster, Martin Nelson, said it was the first time the Atlantic hurricane season had four named storms this early since record-keeping began in 1851. The season runs from June 1 to Nov. 30. news.yahoo.com. But it is cyclical, and they say we are going into a cycle of increased activity, after a 20 year cycle of low activity. 150 mile per hour winds??? I thought this was a small storm........its close to category 5 hurricane. Now I knoiw that's unusual this early in the season. ted
