Why do you keep talking about beating people up? I may be wrong, but I thought the experts in such things - at least in the US - concluded a long time ago that beatings were not effective in getting useful information and that psychological methods worked better.

Of course, some on the whiny left consider all forms of coercion, whether physical or purely psychological, to be torture on par with the worst of Hitler, Stalin and Saddam Hussein.
