"Democrats and liberals claim they cannot see the link between the attacks and the War." There is a rich context of anti-western society linkages between the equally rich diverse and volitile region in and around Iraq. More often, the claim has to do with proving or disproving material linkages, which is a bird walk as far as I am concerned. Anyone who cannot see how radical terrorists have been and continue acting to mobilize various subcultures of the region is probably operating on some ulterior motives. IMO
