The people in the middle east, like the people everywhere, blame their government for the shortcomings of their country. The difference is that in America policy is a function of mostly internal forces, but out there policy is also subject of approval by USA. As a result the anger and hatred that is directed towards their own regimes also gets directed towards America. Natural course of events will see to it that either they will learn the path or perish. Here is an example on personal scale for you: gays should be allowed to marry and live as they wish. This is not because I approve of homosexuality, but because the same principle that states they can't tell me to lube my anus prevents me from telling them what to do with theirs. I'm not sure that many people would be able to understand this historically, moderate position. Political Islam, like all other forms of political organizations, is an affront to the totalitarian regimes in ME. Terrorism is a fighting method of the weak against the strong. I think indigenous people rather than US Marines should decide their own destiny. Keep a log of what and how you've been thinking and in 10 years examine it to see how and why you've been right/wrong. ST
