Witness Richard Jones, 61, told the BBC he saw an unusually agitated man in his 20s on the bus. "He was standing next to me with a bag at his feet and he kept dipping into this bag and fiddling about with something. I was getting quite annoyed with this because it was a crowded bus," said Jones, who got off the No. 30 bus one stop before the blast. Since the bomb on the bus went off half an hour after the other three, I wonder if it wasn't being taken away from the Tube, not toward it. Maybe the bomber couldn't get the timer to work right, or just lost his nerve. He was at any rate on the wrong place on the bus to do maximum damage, if that was his intent.
