Somewhere on the Lake Wales ridge up through Orlando would be good for a FAB. Less effect from hurricanes. No earthquakes.

burn2learn: Harris has a fab in Melbourne. It's used for military parts. Mostly rad-hard SRAM's, ASIC's and the RH-3000 rad-hard RISC 3000 parts. I've toured it and got a neat paperweight with a RH-3000 die inside it. Regards, Mike.

Basically the county gave them the land which is worth many millions and the state is writing the checks. All for the establishment of a "tech" center in Palm Beach county. In Hudson we installed a dozen Caterpillar Diesel generators which produced much more power than was actually required. Anyone who built a fab without emergency power deserves to lose it. In fact it just isn't done that way! Jules
