Despite that, I actually do believe in God, if only because my life works better that way. Strictly a matter of faith, not provable, or checkable.

Me too....

I've been under anesthesia twice for surgery, and anyone else who has been put under,
probably had a similar experience as me, your in pre-op, the anesthesiologist
shows up and says, Hi, I'm Dr Smith, your anesthesiologist, I'm going to do some
pre-prep and ask you a few questions....................
..
..
..
..
I come to, ask "How much longer until I go to the operating room ?"
The nurse says, "Honey your in 'Post-Op' and the surgery is over"...
Huh......No memory of being put under, no memory of nothing, well not really
nothing. Remember anesthesiologist talking to me,,then it's all over..

My point in all this is that, for me, If thats what death is, like being put under and
"NEVER" waking up, I can live with that..No pain, no memory, nothing..

However, I made a decision years ago that it doesn't take any more energy to
believe in a heaven or Life after Life than it does not to believe, so I choose to believe..

Mike

alanrs, If there are no boundaries, then the universe would be endless. How can that be? Is there space that has no end?

Nothing is a void, with absolutely nothing in it. How can something be constructed from nothing with which to build?

I believe that there are concepts at work in time and space that our feeble minds can never understand or comprehend. Many humans will not admit how small we are in the mix of the universe, and any other that may exist.

There are powers at work that we do not know anything about, and the truth of the deity that English speaking people call God, may be just the perception of those that wrote the Bible. These are all hypothetical questions, and the absolute truth will never be known to us during our lives IMO.

I too prefer to believe in God as He represents the way to live a life with less conflicts, and more peaceful existence. If that is just a myth, I am still ahead because that belief has made the life I led more content.
