Jules, thanks for the stories. My dad was a VP at Westinghouse, where power grid turbines, generators, relays, etc. were a major part of their business. I think Siemens took that over. BTW, Siemens owned ~20% of AMD at one point.

If you dad worked for Westinghouse during WWII they not only built the Turbines and generators but also the main engine turbines & reduction gears as well on the USS New Jersey and the USS Coral Sea as well.
The USS Wisconsin was done by GE, same exact specs.
The rest I don't know.
