Bush was depending on a fast and easy victory in Iraq to push his domestic agenda. I imagine that's what he was dreaming about on the trip home from the aircraft carrier two years ago.

What I'd like to know is, why were all his civilian advisers on Iraq and Afghanistan and the war on terrorism so incompetent? Where do these people get their information and why are their policies so universally inept? For that matter, who advised him to fly back from Crawford over the Schiavo case?

Are these people actually insane or do they simply spend so much time together in their little bubble that they're dizzy from lack of oxygen.
