Isikoff was the one who first wrote the story. Proving my original point, that Isikoff is not some "liberal" out to get Karl Rove. His story, which he wanted printed, hurt Clinton very badly. Drudge merely found out about it (how we don't know) and did what Isikoff wanted, put the story out there. If Isikoff were a partisan democrat he never would have written the story to begin with.

This goes to proving Isikoff is very credible and non-partisan as he writes about Karl Rove's treason trial.

As for Newsweek, when had the press ever outed a president of the USA for having an affair? It was a first and highly controversial. Kennedy, Johnson, Bush Sr. and Eisenhower were all rumored to have mistresses. We know JFK had plenty. Bush Sr. was also rumored to be bi-sexual. But no magazine would ever touch that stuff. It was deemed unpatriotic to do so. So Newsweek had solid precedent to stop Isikoff's stopry from going out, especially since it was not that big a revelation after Gennifer Flowers. Everyone knew Clinton played around.
