mindmeld,

re:It's our economy they hit, ten. If you think about it, one thing all Americans agree on is commerce. WTC was our symbol of commerce. So they hit our biggest symbol. Hitting theirs would be a proportionate response.

I think you're confusing money with the heart and soul of the USA - the centers and symbols of the Muslim faith are not equivalent of America's financial centers in any way. Good luck finding a target - I'm all for killing every terrorist you find - but hitting civilians for spite is un-American.

Did you see this?

CALGARY, Alberta (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow said on Friday the U.S. budget deficit is shrinking faster than expected because of high tax revenues.

Seems like our economy is holding out just fine. And like you said, the Twin Towers were a symbol. Nothing more.

Contrast that with Islam's holiest of holy places, Mecca. Muslim believers have to take a pilgrimage to that city once in their lifetimes. The importance of Mecca is on a whole different level. Bombing it would mean that everything has already gone to hell, and I don't think we're there yet.
