Just tell me exactly how it is that Rove is "protecting" the president by destroying Wilson's wife's career, telling Chris Matthews she's "fair game.". That was retaliation, pure and simple. If it was lies he was concerned about, then refute the lie. But he couldn't. This is how Rove operates. Even after the documents were called forgeries by more than one official body, Bush still made the claim about yellowcake in his state of the union address. And later, the CIA agreed that the claim was fake, the documents were forgeries. And this became the basis for war, this flimsy discredited claim that was pumped by Bush, Cheney and Rice for all it was worth. So just exactly what was Wilson's lie that Rove was protecting us from?
