I don't think so. It wasn't a matter of marketing to the consumer, it was a matter of winning sockets with the OEMs.

Normally, if the customers show demand for a product, the suppliers (OEMs) produce more. But when those suppliers stand to lose $$$ through the illegal retaliation of a dirtbag monopolist, things aren't normal.

So, extra consumer marketing would've been money wasted.
