I'd like the money of the guy who copyrighted the idea of putting 3 things in a title.

Rats, Lice and History

Probably my favorite book of all time, or maybe it's "Plants, Man and Life" (1952), not nearly so well known but still used as extra source reading in biology classes. It's about what we can learn about human history from the history of the plants we've cultivated, and the fossil plants that have been found mingled with human remains and habitations. The author might have deliberately chosen the title to parallel "Rats, Lice and History," I don't know.

Coincidentally, I fished both out of the boxes in the basement over the past week or so, while sorting books, and put them into a box of books to put by my bedside table and reread.

"Guns, Germs and Steel" didn't grab me like the others. Much fatter, and the writing is fatter, too. Needed paring.
