Clinton took care of Saddam in 1998 with his huge bombing campaign, obliterating ever suspected WMD's site in the country. The statements from Clinton you cite in 1998 came before that bombing. He was saying those things to justify the bombing campaign he was planning. Another dishonest deflection from the rightwing. They take these statements out of context and twist them into meaning something different. Only Zionist Lieberman and a few other Dems wanted Bush to rush into Iraq without a plan. Clinton certainly wasn't onboard. Kerry was clearly not on board. He wanted Bush to wait, inspect, coalition-build and prepare very carefully before pushing the invasion button. Especially important to Kerry was having a new government in place along with multi-national peacekeepers. Hugely important condition which Bush ignored.

Oh, is that the latest revision of why bush invaded Iraq? Since the US forces have confirmed what Hans Blix told the world repeatedly that there are no WMDs in Iraq he needs a new excuse. Saddam's government was a house of cards ready to collapse and every profession state department or CIA agent knew that. The political hacks in the bush regime have been wrong about everything and are now being exposed as having participated in a criminal conspiracy to defraud Congress with fabricated intelligence data there will be some rolling, or in Rove's case of committing treason in time of war, swinging from a rope.
