In the meantime, Franken pointed out that the Coast Guard doesn't have the money to modernize its equipment BUT the ultrawealthy still get their estate tax cut?

The great transfer of wealth from those who work for a living to those who don't need to continues unabated. Apparently there is (maybe) one hobby farm that needed to be sold to pay estate taxes.

Apparently some 300 get affected by it but there's enough to pay the taxes and move on.

If you think the government is stealing from you, you're right, Bush is stealing from you and your children.

The White House is again using it's "no comment" strategy, which has worked so well in the past with a mainline media with a 10 minute attention span. Matthews is not the mainline media. I stasnd by my statement that it will be largely ignored until it becomes "old news", just like the Downing Street Memo media failure.

What justification do you have for your optimism that the media will suddenly start doing their job? These are the same people who unquestioningly helped Bush deceive the American people about the reasons for the Iraqi invasion, and promoted like the Super Bowl, with their own Iraqi invasion music and logo, and agreed to imbedded reporters.
