As you know, Wilson's public statement that the yellowcake-Niger connection was too tenuous to be reliable (he used stronger words) predated Tenet's statement to that effect by three days. You don't have to be a conspiranoiac to think Wilson got a leak from his wife.

It's a stretch, but plausible, that the Plame-Wilson-anonymous-White-House-official scandal is part of the CIA/State Dept. vs. White House battle.

And the CIA hates Chalabi.

But I admit to suspecting Chalabi of more wrongdoing than seems humanly possible, including misleading us on Iran as well as Iraq.

Call it conspiranoia, call it a working hypothesis, it's nothing serious, just thinking out loud.

(Mylroie connnected to Judy Miller, though, that's enough to make my Spidey-sense jangle!)

Valerie Wilson, CIA "expert" on WMD. Is she the source of Tenet's "slam dunk" assurances to Bush?
