You are correct that the statistics are higher for male births than female births. Thank you for providing some data. As I looked at older data I see that even the 1990's statistic that you provided is a rise from historical levels.

In 1936 for the USA it was 105 males to 100 females.

The current levels in Asia are approaching 120 males to 100 females. And other regions of the world, including the USA, are following the trend. When you consider the entire population of Asia you get a future statistic of 350 million extra males.

Zhang Qing's report cited eight "disaster provinces" from North to South China, where there were 26 to 38 percent more boys than girls.
