You were definitely making an odious comparison of one group with some undeclared others> Ah, yes, c2, the hater of undeclared others, that's me. I seriously wonder whether pride or affection or even simple affinity for one group results in the diminution of others to such an extent that racism is the result. I'm sure the academics have discussed such a notion to a fare-thee-well and have perhaps reached some surprising conclusions, i.e., that any discrimination in favor of one group automatically means racism is involved. An interesting word, discrimination. One meaning is interesting, namely, that one is discerning in matters of taste, style, etc., and therefore a posh type of person who knows about the finer things of life, perhaps might even be a bon vivant. If that is the case, then I admit to being discriminating as I am a bon vivant, if only as a result of self-description, and to prove that this is not merely hyperbole, I would refer you to my profile in which I stake out my claim to bon vivantnesse. The other meaning of "discrimination" is of course more pejorative. But even discrimination in this sense runs into the brick wall that every action and every attitude in life necessarily discriminates against a multitude of others. We cannot be perfectly all-encompassing, a point the PC crowd forgets but nonetheless exploits. Any one with strong opinions will be deemed a racist, sexist, agist, fill-in-the-blank ist some day.
