Karl Rove is bush's brain for a reason, he's smart and he knows how to operate at the fringes of the law. He probably studied the matter and knew just exactly what he could get away in his smear campaign. His downfall is going to be when Fitzpatrick shows that Rove knew prior to his leaks to reporters that Plame was involved in a covert operation. Fitzpatrick may earned the right to subpoena numerous White House records and no telling what else will come out as a result. Sure I'll accept your bet, in monopoly money :-)
