tejek,

re:Americans have stopped bitching and instead are led through the nose by incompetent politicians whose vested interest is to not get us off the oil. Americans are getting what they deserve........a Bush.

Never miss a chance to blame Bush - the oil issue is nonpartisan or have you forgotten within the span of a paragraph. Your constant blame Bush refrain shuts off conversation before it starts.

Quite frankly I don't see a viable alternative to oil for cars/personal transportation today. There's also the subtle, dependance on oil versus foreign oil debate. Bush thinks we should try to limit foreign oil more than dependance on oil itself - pragmatic since you can't create a market that doesn't pencil out just because you want it to exist.

The growing Chinese and Indian need for oil may in fact be the catalyst to push oil to such heights alternatives become economical. I just wish I knew what the alternative was so I could invest a ton of money in that industry.
