Our guys lined up in the desert on the borders with Saudi Arabia and Syria?

(I'm sure the ruling Shiites in Iraq would approve any redeployment that had US troops guarding against incursions from Sunni nations... all while they have just signed a Defense Pact with the Shiites in Iran, authorizing 'training troops' from Iran to come in....)

I like the idea of having some bases out in the desert, but we need to try to get out of the population centers.
