Some see it as an investment, we don't know what the future holds for Iraq - but with Saddam in place we had a pretty good idea. A friend of mine in Kirkuk thinks things are going rather well, he's been there about 18 months - retired special forces, now private security. He sees a lot of the country up close - not sure I'd pay much attention to the media - they only report death and destruction, even in this country. You should try living outside the country for a few years - America looks pretty dangerous from afar.
