Goldie... your words ("Secularism and humanism are very similar. Religion requires a spiritual component; however ideologies are also belief systems which can have equally fervent adherents") seem a little scattered and difficult to parse, and they don't seem to address my question directly:

What is a "secular religion"? (The exact phrase of the previous poster). Is that when one doesn't believe in a God, but is 'faith-based' (not 'fact-based') in views and opinions... resistant to any evidence that contradicts any personally held biases?

My question of course, is: Is a "secular religion" where someone takes things on *faith* (not allowing one's beliefs to be gainsayed by hard evidence or quantifiable facts)... but does not believe in a Higher Power?
