If the Iraqi people decide to put Saddam back in power that's their business not ours. So if you don't like my answer wrt WWII are we going to go over the other 15,000 recorded wars in history? There's no analogy to WWII and Iraq's behavior that I can see. The borders of Iraq were arbitrarily set by a British general when they tried to make them a colony. There's books explaining the details of this, e.g. Banking on Baghdad. The Japanese were spreading all over Asia and Hitler was invading other countries. If WWII was worth fighting makes one wonder why we never invaded the USSR, Stalin is the most murderous leader in history and invaded many countries. Iran has the right to develop a nuclear energy program which will be good for the global environment as it will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, well sort of, they're still going to sell all their oil for our gas guzzlers to burn. After all, we allow Pakistan to have missile launched nuclear weapons and tolerate their scientists selling nuclear weapons secrets to Libya, North Korea and Iran. I'd put Pakistan on the top of the list as a problem country for the global community to worry about. Everyone knows that the only way to prevent the US from invading your country is to have nuclear weapons, is that why we never invaded the USSR? Why should we fund Israel to have nukes and 20 submarines to carry them around in? What's your take?
