If there was any nitpicking being done,

Stop nitpicking.

We all know they are mostly dark skinned moslems with ancestry from the middle east. But by now, they may not all have dark skin and they may come from almost any part of the world.

Lets just call them the enemy. They are mostly dark skinned but they may not all have dark skin. Many of them are Arabs, but not all of them. They come mostly from the ME, but they could have been born in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Austrailia, and perhaps even Germany.

Their physical characteristics, national origin (????) and belief systems describe more than a billion people on earth.

Stop nitpicking. Don't try to understand anything. You are giving me a headache. Lets just call them the enemy and be done with it.

"ethnic Pakistani" doesn't compute.

I got to that term because I live here in the islands. It's how I differentiate between Japanese who are born here in this country and those born in Japan. I have an "ethnic Japanese" son-in law. I say that instead of saying, I have a "Japanese" son-in-law. My terminology gives people a more accurate picture of the situation with just one additional word.

And I don't want to exchange ten more posts about it. :>)
