have to agree . Although he spends a lot of time selling books.

My feelings are his program has gone down hill in the last year. he lacks the quick retorts he used to have, the mix of subjects, and the guy he has on there doing impersonations is just awful and the language is off base most of the time.

Imus is losing audience on the radio, they should get some excitement back into the program. he tends to wonder a lot more than he used to.

I enjoy listening to him in the mornings

i used to, still do occasionally, did in fact catch the ford interview this morning, i felt he was too busy kissing ford's ass to ask a challenging question...

My impression of him is that he has good instincts

unfortunately, he also seems to have some sort of messiah complex...at least according to the part of the program i heard where he was talking about his good works at the 'ranch'

seriously, i think the man is ill

but has weak convictions, and is frequently seduced by the liberal atmosphere of the world he lives in.

Imus is very intelligent and is largely self educated. He reads a lot. But basically he is more Nascar and moonshine than he is polo and chablis. But a lot of times, all the books he has read gets him all confused. That is when the liberal stuff surfaces.

From what I hear, he is very mean spirited. Except for his sidekick and producer, he treats the people that work for him very badly. They stick around because the money is good and they get a lot of exposure and opens doors for more opportunities.

The people at the radio station suck up to him and know that there are terrible consequences for getting on the wrong side of him.

He knows that most of his listeners are not from minority stock. People that work for him know that they really have his approval making outrageous racist remarks. All in the name of yucks.

His sports commentator, Sid. is normally not a racist. But Imus gave him a big break by replacing Warner Wolf with him. Sid has to put up with a lot of religious jokes because of his heritage and then is "encouraged" to come up with outrageous racist remakes mostly aimed at African Americans. Imus plays the innocent. "Did he really say that? I'm shocked, shocked, shocked"

Sid gets fired every so often for going across the line. Tough way for a man to make a living.
