I'm perplexed. I thought that disapproving of books that made the occult seem charming and fun was pretty standard for Catholic hierarchy. Lots of evangencals have heartburn with Harry Potter too. What is new and surprising here?

I am curious why you distort reality and in effect spread a lie about the Pope and Catholic Priests. A small number of priest betrayed the trust given them. And a small number of church leaders handled that betrayal stupidly.

I have not paid much attention to potter stories. It may well be that themes of immorality are woven into the complex story lines. Considering how even adults one sees as thinking and honest at times distort reality and in effect spread lies, the Pope's comments about subtle seductions may this deeply distort Christianity in the soul seems very reasonable.

May the Lord be with you and guide you LindyBill.
