AS: What do you think the chances are for the Dems to re-take control of the Senate in 2006...? IMO, that will be the key to holding Bush & Cheney responsible for their reckless Iraqi adventure.

The Screwing of America and The Stain on The Flag --by Kin O'Brien

By Citizens For Legitimate Government

legitgov.org

Karl Rove has screwed the American people. When Bill Clinton was condemned for getting a famous stain on a famous blue dress, the GOP went after him for over two years, crying "Impeachment! Clinton is a liar! IMPEACH!!!"

Well, now. Let's cut to the chase, shall we? Karl Rove has outed a CIA agent and risked the lives of said agent as well as all her contacts in the world. His action, with the enthusiastic compliance of a couple of so-called unbiased news reporters, has made our country more vulnerable to terrorism. His behavior is beyond disgusting and criminal...it is UNPATRIOTIC. Karl Rove has possibly committed an act of treason.

At the very least, he has broken the law and compromised our national security. And...lies? Shall we count all the lies from this administration? How about the lies regarding nonexistent WMD that promoted an illegal invasion and destruction of a country that had never done anything against the American people? Yes, those are the lies that Joseph Wilson exposed to the world, lies that were corroborated by the infamous Downing Street Memo and largely ignored by the UNPATRIOTIC American media, who are nothing more than a GOP mouthpiece that has been criminally complicit in allowing Bush and his minions to deceive the American people, and to cover-up the numerous crimes and skullduggery of government and military officialdom and their US corporate shadows.

As the Karl Rove saga continues, it's important that we keep in mind that Rove and Bush are joined at the hip. To assume that Bush is clueless about Rove's actions is absurd. While everyone is focusing on Rove, maybe the REAL question is...did the historically vindictive Bush have a hand in this adventure? If he didn't actually ORDER the outing of Valerie Plame, he MOST CERTAINLY knew his friend Rove was involved. To think otherwise is to live in denial with the tooth fairy and Osama bin Forgotten. I find it very interesting that the GOP isn't all over this scandal the way they were when Clinton was screwing Monica and leaving stains on her blue dress. (Interesting...but not surprising. The neocons don't EVER put the good of the country over party loyalty and corporate interests. Just check some of the pork barrel legislation that benefits big business at the expense of the American people, and my observation will prove to be correct).

Karl Rove has stained the the fabric of our American flag with his actions, and it's long past time that the American people wake up and realize that while a love affair with an intern isn't the most becoming behavior from a powerful politician, it definitely isn't an act of treason. While a lie about sex isn't going to hurt the country, a lie about sending our sons and daughters to die in an illegal and unprovoked war IS. While Bill Clinton lied to keep his personal life a secret, his lie didn't kill anyone. And his lie didn't compromise national security.

This administration is built on lies and crimes against the American people and humanity. Instead of telling the American people the TRUTH about these lies and crimes, we are inundated with more important news, like Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson, and Janet Jackson's breast. The American media is totally beholden to the GOP military/corporate machine that feeds it, and we, the American people, are the "Monicas" of this cabal of thugs. We are ALL getting screwed. Iraqi citizens are getting screwed. The planet is getting screwed.

I don't know about you, but I'm fed up.

It's time to throw these bums out!

It's time for the American people to DEMAND honesty and integrity in our government and in the media. Our taxes are paying for these crimes, and I, for one, am REALLY PISSED OFF that I am paying these thugs to screw me and the rest of my family. Look around you...wherever you live...and ask yourself... "Does my town need money for decent schools? Decent roads? Better water quality? Safe places for the kids to play? Enough food and shelter for everyone? Adequate medical facilities? How about Senior Services and Veterans' Programs?"

If you're like me, you will have noticed that your town is lacking in ALL those areas. Your local newspapers are telling you that there is no money. Yet, BILLIONS of our tax dollars are still unaccounted for in Iraq. We are even paying for SPACE MISSIONS because Bush has a "quirky little thing" for Mars. We're paying for FREE SPEECH ZONE CAGES and POLICE TASERS and OTHER WEAPONS TO BE USED AGAINST US if we try to exercise our First Amendment rights to free speech and peaceful assembly. We are paying for the libraries that the government feels free to enter and document our reading habits. The libraries are paid for with LOCAL TAXES...the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS NO RIGHT TO DICTATE HOW WE USE THEM. Protesters and teachers are called "Domestic Terrorists"!

Doesn't something STINK? Don't you wonder why there is no money for clean water for your kids to drink? Don't you wonder why the people who WORK FOR US always seem to have MORE than the rest of us? Public servants who are elected to WORK FOR THE PEOPLE are too busy working for the corporate and pharmaceutical industry lobbyists to pay any attention to US. Their fat salaries and excellent benefits come out of OUR pockets, and many of those so-called public servants are MILLIONAIRES! GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK!

I am PISSED OFF, and I hope the American people will wake up and start taking ACTION before it's too late. Our kids and grandkids have one hell of a dark, dangerous future with never-ending war and misery ahead of them unless we get these thugs OUT of Our White House and behind bars in The Big House where they belong.

Forget the partisan crap! We're ALL in this together! Are we going to just SIT HERE AND LET THEM
SCREW US??? Are we going to let them screw our children?? This is MY COUNTRY. This is YOUR COUNTRY. This is AMERICA....NOT "THE HOMELAND," as these thugs like to call it. Why isn't Homeland Security called "American Security"? What is WITH this creepy term?

An uncommon word to begin with, "homeland" became an everyday word after the Sept. 11 attacks and was institutionalized when President Bush created the Office of Homeland Security.

Jeff Neberman, who teaches European history at Boise State University, says it's "right out of Nazi Germany." The German word "heimat" means "homeland" and was used by the Nazis. Others dispute a direct Nazi link and note various cultures have used the word, too.

"Homeland" has "obviously grated on quite a number of people," said Todd Gitlin, who teaches culture and sociology at Columbia University. "It feels like an import even if you're not aware that its origins are German."

Leslie Savan, who wrote a book about advertising and popular culture, said "homeland" makes her think not only of Germany, but also of Russia and South Africa's former apartheid government.

"It's been one of those words that's supposed to sound cozy and warm," she said. "But because it sounds cozy and warm it has been used by totalitarian governments." [ Source: hypocrites.com ]

It's time to stop wishing for change in AMERICA. It's time to stop following the rules that our government creates for US, with a very DIFFERENT set of rules for themselves and their pals. It's time to create new rules. It's time to create the People's Court on a massive scale, and bring these crooks and traitors to justice...REAL JUSTICE, not just your typical judiciary handslap that IMPORTANT PEOPLE GET and is so prevalent in the system today. Joe Blow gets life in prison for smoking a joint, and the REAL criminals in America are using our national silverware to pig out on Texas barbecue. Halliburton is laughing all the way to the bank when the American people are unable to afford the gas to get to work, and Martha Stewart does time because of a trumped up government plot to divert the people from their corporate criminal friends. By the way, does anyone know where we can send a card to Kenny-Boy Lay while he does HIS time? Oh! He's NOT in prison? Really? I WONDER WHY, DON'T YOU?

Karl Rove is the tip of the iceberg, folks. It's the first time we've been able to highlight ONE of this administration's criminal, UNPATRIOTIC acts. Don't let them bury it. Karl Rove is going to get a pass from Bush...you KNOW it. Don't let him get a pass from the American people! Let's call these thugs what they are...UNPATRIOTIC TRAITORS WHO HAVE SCREWED THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Don't let them hide behind the flag. Don't let them weasel their way out of this one. They mean great harm to all of us, and to our children and grandchildren. They mean great harm to innocent people all over the planet. They mean great harm to our liberties and freedoms. They mean great harm to the environment.

Karl Rove outed a CIA agent because he is a vindictive SOB who works for and with a vindictive SOB. He endangered our country, our children, and CIA contacts all over the world. He needs to be arrested and brought to trial IN PUBLIC. We must NOT allow this story to die. Our future depends on it. It's time to protest at the media outlets. The media uses the publicly-owned airwaves to LIE to us. They have broken their trust with the American people, and we need to aggressively protest the criminal complicity of the Fourth Estate and let them, the government and the world know that "WE ARE MAD AS HELL AND WE AREN'T GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!"

Let's roll!

It Appears That Karl Rove Is in Serious Trouble
________________________________________

As the scandal over the leak of CIA agent Valerie Plame's identity has continued to unfold, there is a renewed focused on Karl Rove - the White House Deputy Chief of Staff whom President Bush calls his political "architect."

Newsweek has reported that Matt Cooper, in an email to his bureau chief at Time magazine, wrote that he had spoken "to Rove on double super secret background for about two minutes before he went on vacation ..." In that conversation, Rove gave Cooper "big warning" that Time should not "get too far out on Wilson." Rove was referring, of course, to former Ambassador Joe Wilson's acknowledgment of his trip to Africa, where he discovered that Niger had not, in fact, provided uranium to Iraq that might be part of a weapons of mass destruction (WMD) program. Cooper's email indicates that Rove told Cooper that Wilson's trip had not been authorized by CIA Director George Tenet or Vice President Dick Cheney; rather, Rove claimed, "it was ... Wilson's wife, who apparently works at the agency on [WMD] issues who authorized the trip." (Rove was wrong about the authorization.)

Only the Special Counsel, Patrick Fitzgerald, and his staff have all the facts on their investigation at this point, but there is increasing evidence that Rove (and others) may have violated one or more federal laws. At this time, it would be speculation to predict whether indictments will be forthcoming.

No Apparent Violation of the Identities Protection Act

As I pointed out when the Valerie Plame Wilson leak first surfaced, the Intelligence Identities And Protection Act is a complex law. For the law to apply to Rove, a number of requirements must be met.

Rove must have had "authorized access to classified information" under the statute. Plame was an NCO (non-covered officer). White House aides, and even the president, are seldom, if ever, given this information. So it is not likely Rove had "authorized access" to it.

In addition, Rove must have "intentionally" - not "knowingly" as has been mentioned in the news coverage - disclosed "any information identifying such a covert agent." Whether or not Rove actually referred to Mrs. Wilson as "Valerie Plame," then, the key would be whether he gave Matt Cooper (or others) information that Joe Wilson's wife was a covert agent. Also, the statute requires that Rove had to know,a as a fact, that the United States was taking, or had taken, "affirmative measures to conceal" Valerie Plame's covert status. Rove's lawyer says he had no such knowledge.

In fact, there is no public evidence that Valerie Wilson had the covert status required by the statute. A covert agent, as defined under this law, is "a present or retired officer or employee" of the CIA, whose identity as such "is classified information," and this person must be serving outside of the United States, or have done so in the last five years.

There is no solid information that Rove, or anyone else, violated this law designed to protect covert CIA agents. There is, however, evidence suggesting that other laws were violated. In particular, I have in mind the laws invoked by the Bush Justice Department in the relatively minor leak case that it vigorously prosecuted, though it involved information that was not nearly as sensitive as that which Rove provided Matt Cooper (and possibly others).

The Jonathan Randel Leak Prosecution Precedent

I am referring to the prosecution and conviction of Jonathan Randel. Randel was a Drug Enforcement Agency analyst, a PhD in history, working in the Atlanta office of the DEA. Randel was convinced that British Lord Michael Ashcroft (a major contributor to Britain's Conservative Party, as well as American conservative causes) was being ignored by DEA, and its investigation of money laundering. (Lord Ashcroft is based in South Florida and the off-shore tax haven of Belize.)

Randel leaked the fact that Lord Ashcroft's name was in the DEA files, and this fact soon surfaced in the London news media. Ashcroft sued, and learned the source of the information was Randel. Using his clout, soon Ashcroft had the US Attorney in pursuit of Randel for his leak.

By late February 2002, the Department of Justice indicted Randel for his leaking of Lord Ashcroft's name. It was an eighteen count "kitchen sink" indictment; they threw everything they could think of at Randel. Most relevant for Karl Rove's situation, Court One of Randel's indictment alleged a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 641. This is a law that prohibits theft (or conversion for one's own use) of government records and information for non-governmental purposes. But its broad language covers leaks, and it has now been used to cover just such actions.

Randel, faced with a life sentence (actually, 500 years) if convicted on all counts, on the advice of his attorney, pleaded guilty to violating Section 641. On January 9, 2003, Randel was sentenced to a year in a federal prison, followed by three years probation. This sentence prompted the US Attorney to boast that the conviction of Randel made a good example of how the Bush Administration would handle leakers.

The Randel Precedent - If Followed - Bodes Ill for Rove

Karl Rove may be able to claim that he did not know he was leaking "classified information" about a "covert agent," but there can be no question he understood that what he was leaking was "sensitive information." The very fact that Matt Cooper called it "double super secret background" information suggests Rove knew of its sensitivity, if he did not know it was classified information (which by definition is sensitive).

United States District Court Judge Richard Story's statement to Jonathan Randel, at the time of sentencing, might have an unpleasant ring for Karl Rove. Judge Story told Randel that he surely must have appreciated the risks in leaking DEA information. "Anything that would affect the security of officers and of the operations of the agency would be of tremendous concern, I think, to any law-abiding citizen in this country," the judge observed. Judge Story concluded this leak of sensitive information was "a very serious crime."

"In my view," he explained, "it is a very serious offense because of the risk that comes with it, and part of that risk is because of the position" that Randel held in DEA. But the risk posed by the information Rove leaked is multiplied many times over; it occurred at a time when the nation was considering going to war over weapons of mass destruction. And Rove was risking the identity of, in attempting to discredit, a WMD proliferation expert, Valerie Plame Wilson.

Judge Story acknowledged that Randel's leak did not appear to put lives at risk, nor to jeopardize any DEA investigations. But he also pointed out that Randel "could not have completely and fully known that in the position that [he] held." Is not the same true of Rove? Rove had no idea what the specific consequences of giving a reporter the name of a CIA agent (about whom he says he knew nothing) would be - he only knew that he wanted to discredit her (incorrectly) for dispatching her husband to determine if the rumors about Niger uranium were true or false.

Given the nature of Valerie Plame Wilson's work, it is unlikely the public will ever know if Rove's leak caused damage, or even loss of life of one of her contracts abroad, because of Rove's actions. Dose anyone know the dangers and risks that she and her family may face because of this leak?

It was just such a risk that convinced Judge Story that "for any person with the agency to take it upon himself to leak information poses a tremendous risk; and that's what, to me, makes this a particularly serious offense." Cannot the same be said that Rove's leak? It dealt with matters related to national security; if the risk Randel was taking was a "tremendous" risk, surely Rove's leak was monumental.

While there are other potential violations of the law that may be involved with the Valerie Plame Wilson case, it would be speculation to consider them. But Karl Rove's leak to Matt Cooper is now an established fact. First, there is Matt Cooper's email record. And Cooper has now confirmed that he has told the grand jury he spoke with Rove. If Rove's leak fails to fall under the statute that was used to prosecute Randel, I do not understand why.

There are stories circulating that Rove may have been told of Valerie Plame's CIA activity by a journalist, such as Judith Miller, as recently suggested in Editor & Publisher. If so, that doesn't exonerate Rove. Rather, it could make for some interesting pairing under the federal conspiracy statute (which was the statute most commonly employed during Watergate).

Voter Fraud in Florida and Ohio: Kerry Won the Election by at least 1.7 Million Votes

_____________________________________________________

Brad Menfil is not my real name. I work for the RNC. I fear reprisals if I'm found out.

The truth about this election is this: Florida and Ohio had to go for Bush in order for him to "win" the election. In reality he lost both states. In fact, he did not even win the popular vote. He lost the national popular vote by at least 1,750,000. This shows you the scale of the fraud.

The exit polls were not wrong. Kerry was the clear winner, but victory was snatched from him.

Florida first. The 200,000+ margin of victory for Bush made this state uncontestable. Everybody assumes that even with some fraud, Kerry could never have made up the difference in a recount. But Kerry actually won by about 750,000 votes. The numbers were changed by a computer program (in both electronic and scan-tron voting systems) called "KerryLite." "KerryLite" of course is not actual name of the program. The actual name is 11-5-18-18 etc. For additional encryption, the numbers were jumbled but I'm not sure in which order. The numbers replace the letters of the alphabet. For example, K is the eleventh letter of the alphabet.

So the if-then statement goes something like this: "if total true Kerry>total true Bush, Bush x 1.04x (.04 is a random number)(total true Kerry), total true Bush". The second part of the equation takes the total number of votes cast and subtracts the new Bush total, subtracts the third party totals and leaves the rest for Kerry.

Sometimes the program would also reduce third party votes and award them to Bush. And even where Bush legitimately won, he was still awarded additional votes. The big Democratic counties (Broward for example) went to Kerry because it had to appear that everything was on the up and up. It's interesting to see this unfold. Does anybody wonder why the Republican counties were mostly counted after the Democratic counties? You should wonder, and also know that this was no accident. The Bush team had to make up the votes as the night went on.

In Ohio, computer voting fraud, vote tossing and voter suppression were the main methods. Vote tossing was simply the removal of Kerry votes and some third party votes. In some areas, the Bush vs. Kerry votes were absurd. Nine to one, eight to two.

Voter suppression took the form of making voters stand in four hour long lines. This of course took place in Democratic areas. The simplest thing to do was to have too few voting machines. Sometimes that's all it takes. People eventually lose patience and leave without casting a vote.

In other states such as New Mexico, Nevada, Iowa and New Hampshire, Kerry's leads evaporated very quickly once the polls were shut down. Kerry only won New Hampshire, but barely. As it turned out, the lead was 6% for Kerry in that state and not enough fraudulent activity took place to flip the state to Bush.

So this will all come out and be known to everyone. Nothing this massive can be kept a secret. You're already beginning to see these "irregularities" and the whisper will become a roar.
