Guns, Germs and Steel. On PBS Monday nights for 3 part series. I watched the first part last Monday and intend to do them all. Very interesting and mind stimulating.' No only do I own a 38. I took the NRA course and scored the highest in the class.. and that is on the range too... and have a permit.(:>) Watch out... I think living as I do almost alone that it is important for me to be able to protect myself if necessary. However, I don't contemplate ever having to use it. Nevertheless, where I am now I have hikers who are lost come to the door late at night asking how to find their way out. At one time I would have driven them to the highway. Times have changed, unfortunately... and now I have a gun nearby when I answer the door late at night. What really worries me. I don't know whether I could kill anything. Conundrum.. a gun and a pacifist..??????
