After hours @ 39.70 +3.52%. Mr. Market likes what it sees. Enough of this back and forth. I'll let the market speak for the numbers Apple knocked out of the park.

Regarding next quarters guidance, Apple does not over promise and under achieve. In April, it said to expect 28 cents--we got 37 cents. I'll bet Apple is being conservative again.

Allen,

This retailer never has more than a dozen iMacs in the store. This time they had 3 times normal inventory. Either they're expecting some bonanza shopping event or they got a fabulous deal from Apple to take these units off Apple's hands. As to where Apple charges when ships or when sold, just go back to summer 2000 when Apple was caught red handed stuffing the channel. The announced switch to Intel has got to be having an impact. Anyone who chooses to argue otherwise is deluding themselves. Ask yourself why Apple is throwing in an iPod mini (or equal value in $$) with every mac purchase. There's more here than meets the eye IMO.

I believe Oppenheimer (or was it Cook) said that there was about 4-5 weeks of Mac inventory in the channel (for those who want to verify, check out the conf. call, time = 3:50). I don't see a problem with that figure and it's certainly not an indication of channel stuffing by any measure.
