Frankly I prefer the Offensive Department. Maybe we would be less likely to go to war if we had to constantly call on the Offensive Department.

Hmm. The Cato Inst was saying that the world oil supply is fluid and easily accessible as long as you can pay for it. The only way another country could deny us oil is if they blockaded every US port.

So, what, they're saying that even an argument that oil is a national security issue is bunkum? I don't know if it's true but it sure denies the admin yet another excuse for invading Iraq: China was going to get its hands on that oil and crash our economy.

It was part of a discussion on the China-Unocal thing where he stated that Unocal was such a small part of the entire oil market that....who cares if China buys it.
