Any betrayal of trust is hurtful and should never be tolerated or simply excused without sanction or recourse; to do so enables the perptrator to continue such conduct. A betrayal of trust by someone we have empowered into government office, as our representative, is particularly aggregious since the level of engagement is less than personal but the effects are not. It also rises to the level of criminal conduct.

The public conscience is a delicate entity and should be held with high regard by government representatives. It is important that we see our mission in the world as noble and just. The fact that Rove is not an elected official makes this particular issue an easy one to manage. It is my feeling that he should either step down or his boss should give him a leave of absense until the issue is more clearly understood.
