The "evil" enemy is standard practice and I didn't make much of that, but "they hate us because we are free" was laughable. Propaganda was a lot easier during WWII when they didn't have worry about the internet. I suppose it's tougher to wage war if you admit that the enemy may have a point. I find it an odd notion, that Arabs are expected to forget that we supported Saddam and the Shah, et al. It doesn't bother us, why should it bother them? I'm sure that there are plenty of folks in Chile that haven't forgotten our support for Augusto Pinochet. Sooner or later history rears it's ugly head. jttmab
