re:France securing its borders doesn't mean what you apparently think it does.

I believe the EU has adopted like policies regarding entry into their respective countries to then allow cross (internal) border access. Something akin to the USA and States - except each State is now addressing border issues on their own since the Feds aren't moving on the issue. France meant it's points of non-EU entry like airports and ports.

In any case the French are not a model we should follow anyway - we've been attacked once and are still the primary target, if anything our policies should be more rigorous than theirs.
