I've been wondering the same thing (re: Miller's source).

For some of these news organizations, principles only count
if they agree with the organization's political agenda.

If a "source" gives permission that he/she DOES NOT want protection, the journalist is under NO obligation "protect that source" nor to go to jail... Isn't this correct?

I believe Rove has said several times his comments are OK to be opened....

So why isn't the media of every stripe making this clear? Why isn't the NYT making this clear???

The haughty grey lady is even more dingy now...and things being equal, may be the one that falls on her sword....not the person they would like to see fall on it....

IMO, the source Miller is "protecting" is no doubt someone who is a card carrying, large donor to the Leftwing causes.....AND who works in the Administration.....

Stated differently, would the NYT go to the mat on this, and allow its reporter to go to jail on a matter of principle if the "source" being protected was one of those conservatives in the White House?
