>> Going back to your question about Saudi Arabia...

Let me get this straight. A bunch of Saudis, headed by another Saudi, and financed by Saudis, highjack planes and ram them into buildings. And then Bush responds by invading a secular country that had virtually nothing to do with this, while leaving alone Saudi, Pakistan, and UAE who were the only counties who recognized and helped the only government to directly support those terrorists.

How much sense does that make?

>> If the US were to attack Saudi Arabia for it's cruel fundamental religion, we would be guilty of telling Wahhab Muslims how to run their lives. Intolerance is not the root of murder, it is just a philosophy. However, there is a smally part of the population that has gotten carried away with the message.

I am sorry, I do not believe this and and I don't think you do either.

First of all, that intolerant philosophy is the root of the murders. Actions are but an actualization of beliefs.

Secondly, attacking Saudi would not have been because of their philosophy. It would have been for financing the terrorists.

Thirdly, there are a million shades of grey between invasion and doing nothing. We could have biocotted them until they stopped financing fundamentalists outside Saudi. We could have demanded they change the teachings at Pakistani madressas. Bush could have done all but play kissy kissy with Abdullah. Most people don't even know that Saudis have nuclear reactors, this despite the admissions that they seek nuclear weapons.

In short, rather than rising to the challenge of Wahabbis, Bush decided to make an example of what he perceived to be easy targets so he can shock and awe the rest of the region. To top that, Wolfie admitted as much that one of the reasons for invading Iraq was so Bush can move the troops out of Saudi per Osama's demand. Now that is appeasement. Talk about a miscalculation. Because of Iraq now US is the laughing stock of those who were suppose to be in shock and awe.

And this is just on the foreign front, to say nothing of the falling dollar, the rising debt and deficit, the corruption of government contracts, the loss of civil liberties, the destruction of the environment, etc, etc.

Sigh!
