I am well aware of Pakistan's history as well as a fair amount of their internal politics over the past two decades. Can you cite any Pakistani suicide bombing in the West? Even inside Pakistan that was a very rare thing until Saudis started funding madarassas.

After Iran's revolution, many Pakistanis were enamoured with Khomeini. US actually encouraged the Saudi involvement as some sort of religious barrier against spread of Iran's revolution. It was along the lines of supporting Pol Pot as "our communists" to dilute the "bad" communists. Very short sighted, in both cases.
