I believe, and there is some evidence, that the Western capitialists built up Hitler on purpose, only to take him down a few years later and take over his country. Growing up in the 1980s, it might be hard to believe that could be possible, but I witnessed the U.S. and other Western powers build up Saddam Huessein only to destroy him and take over his country, so I know it is done. WW2 was a major shift in international power. The dominant Eurpean empires faded and the new American empire rose. The question is, was this engineered to happen by wealthy American elites? I think a case can be made that it was. We know the Bush and Fords and many other wealthy Americans helped bankroll Hitler. We know that this same elite clique did the same to Saddam Huessein 50 years later. We know that this same elite clique has no regard for human life whatsoever, even their own citizens. They are intersted in wealth and power and maintaining it. Given this track record and the fact that the U.S. emerged an empire after WW2, is it really that hard to believe it was all by design? Why didn't we take over Japan and Germany? We essentially did. We were an occupation force for decades in those countries. The key difference is that they don't have many resources, and we would rather be selling them goods than occupying them, so we let them develop on their own. Iraq has the one resource we can't get enough of, OIL. So, we colonize it and kill a lot of people in the process. I don't see why we can't just pay the fair market price for oil like everyone else. If it gets too expensive, let another energy technology replace it. That's how the market is supposed to work, not with brute force and mayhem ruling the market.
