Child sacrifice has always existed. I think if sacrifice were involved then the woman would have more of a stake in the procedure. What we are talking about is someone who has no interest in having a child, not someone who is trying to make a statement or experience a religious epiphany. TP

If a woman wants to kill herself can you forcibly cut her open and protect the fertilized egg? If a woman wants to drink heavily which harms her fetus, can you forcibly cut her open to protect that fetus from harm? What if you are withholding one of your kidneys which could sustain the life of a newborn baby. Why can society not FORCE you to keep that baby alive and cut into your body?? Well...why can't they? And why shouldn't they? Why should somebody else be forced to nourish an egg, if you are exempt from even nourishing a living child that requires something from inside your body to live? Ted Williams has human DNA and is in a cryogenic tank (some of him at any rate). According to greg or e, this constitutes a little bundle of joy waiting to become self aware (because he has "human" DNA). If his brain requires some peculiar quality that exists in your blood, ought we to FORCE you to nourish him? Why not?? You are a member of society. He has no mother we can force to nourish him. According to greg or e, if you have a distinct human DNA, then you have the right to be nourished and protected. He would Force us to protect the egg of an independent human being--an egg which is HER PROPERTY--and HER potential baby if she so desires. So why can we not force YOU to nourish an entire head?? You like human DNA and believe it is sacred, don't you?? You are not a member of some mysterious "death squad", are you?? None of this bit of hazing is meant to disparage Mr. Williams or his decision to hope for a scientific rebirth. The point I am making is an obvious one. Mr. Williams has my full support. IF A WOMEN IS INCAPABLE OR UNWILLING TO NOURISH HER ZYGOTE WILL YOU ALLOW IT TO BE IMPLANTED IN YOU AND THUS SAVE THAT HUMAN DNA--SHOULD THE TECHNOLOGY EXIST TO ALLOW YOU??? IF THE FETUS OF A WOMAN IS ABNORMAL TO THE DEGREE THAT THE LIFE EXPECTANCY IS LESS THAN 6 MONTHS--WILL YOU AGREE TO TAKE THAT FETUS UNDER YOUR OWN WING AND CARE FOR IT??
