Plame was a deep covert foreign and domestic operative until recently. At Langley she was a clandestine employee, her name kept secret for future covert missions. Outing her means everything she'd done in the past 20 years and everyone she contacted is now compromised. She is a WMD's expert in Asia Minor, one of the most important jobs there is these days. Anyone who says she wasn't covert is a bald-faced liar. The evidence is clear. Rove thought only of covering up Bush's lies and not of his country. He deserves a very long stretch in prison. However, he and his friends in the WH will probably get Watergate type sentences, no more than 5 years apiece for perjury and obstruction of justice. The question is, how many will be indicted. And did Bush and Cheney commit perjury as well? We'll soon find out.
