Personally I never like repeating stereotype like behavior in writing, speaking or body language. Always believed changes were due when getting the feeling one has settled for certain such patterns. But I never found a good alternative to the famous dots at the end. Recently a large selection of smileys have been introduced and can also be quite useful for same purpose I guess.
