Jim,

<<Stayed at the Sailfish in the eraly 70's>>
Probably was the Sailfish Center then. We were right next door.

Lou Perini (one of the brothers from Perini Development bought Dad's place. Then Alex Dryfuss (who owned WPEC) bought from Lou & also the Sailfish Center, plus "The Doctor's" three vacant lots between Dad's place and the Buccaneer...and proceeded to 'redue' the whole thing. There is an interesting story of how Dryfuss acquired WPEC (who made his money by inventing/developing a type of laser photo application) from the tightwad McArthur.

We moved to 'the island' in '51. At the time, Dad & my uncle were contracting partners (Bachstet & Lilly). We were the 4th house built in the town of Palm Beach Shores. For the next few years lots were selling for $2,400-$2,800!

Probably more than you wanted to know, eh? I always read what you & redfish have to say about S. FL, as one would of his birthplace. However, my memories are of the old FL I once knew & loved, which are no more.

Best, Bill
