That's the story, just like bringing democracy to the Muslim rabble in the Mid East is another one. But let's see how it pans out with CNOOC and whether the US will allow a Chinese entity to buy Unocal? That will tell us just how genuine the US is about capitalism when it is not American capitalists who are doing the asset grabbing?

I would say China wants to take its rightful place in the hegemony of nations and because it is the biggest country in Asia it should therefore be the biggest power.
