I want my pals to fish as much as they want to. They don't kill them for fun, and release most.
If I was hungry enough I'd do it in a heartbeat. Just getting old and sappy I guess.

Hopefully clappy, bill of the hill and other fun fisherpeople are aware of this study.

I asked a trout about it and it said it only hurts a
tiny bit.

Like getting a splinter that comes out easily.

I think you should really try to champion a different
cause since I doubt you will be able to influence folks
who know what they enjoy.

If you wish to discuss the horrors of fly fishing I
suggest you start a thread dedicated to that simple
thought and not waste any more bandwidth here.

You are wasting a lot of energy...

Away for a few days and the debate continues.

Perhaps if I quote the fishing code that applies on the section of river I fish. These are the Colorado Department of Wildlife regulations.

On the Roaring Fork River between Glenwood Springs and Aspen trout of all species between 10" and 20" are to be released. Two trout over 24" can be taken daily. Flies and lures only are permitted and no live bait is allowed.

Out here in the real world game and fish disagrees with you.

And what does John Lennon's Imagine say about releasing trout?

Sorry. I find this rather petty. Seems like an argument just for the sake of the argument. Lose, lose.

Neither of us need to change the other. If these are the things that separate us as people we are wasting time here.

If it is simply that you think I picked a fight about this with you, please accept that this is a misunderstanding. I apologize to the thread for causing this waste of bandwidth and time. I thought a little lite association of fishing in a story would entertain instead of create more for us to worry or fret over. God knows we have enough going on to waste our energy on whether or not our humanity is based upon if we have fun and release, or not have fun and kill just to eat.

I'm out on this subject.

You win. I will probably feel bad the next time I catch and release.

Nahhhh. just kidding
