One pop while the situation was static with a 30 caliber belted magnum. Crude but effective.

I recall one discussion and training scenario from many years ago.
The idea being discussed was if a small child is being held chest or head high by an armed gunmen it may be better to place the first round in the groin or lower abdomen and look for an immediate second shot as he falls and/or drops the kid. If a groin shot is not available an upper thigh shot would likely accomplish the same thing.

Wounded gunmen often continue to fight, but nobody continues to fight after a shot in the privates or femur.

I would like to know where the sharpshooters were aiming. I would also like to know what caused 11 men to shoot back. On the surface it looks like fire discipline got thrown out the window. Buit, I hate to second guess the actions of men being fired at and will wait for the reports.
