OK, can you point to any law journal article that recommends the SOTU be treated that way? If there is no precedent or practice and no suggestion from the legal community that there should be, then you are just hoping to transform outrage into an actual legal proceeding.

As far as I know, life doesn't work that way. Even if you get a Democratic majority in the House to start an impeachment, you are unlikely to have a Democratic Senate to convict. You are very unlikely to see an impeachment seriously proposed at all without a stronger foundation.

I am leaving out my personal opinion on the merits of an impeachment and trying to look at the issue pragmatically.
