Iraq Premier Visits Iran to Build Ties

news.yahoo.com

TEHRAN, Iran - Ibrahim al-Jaafari made the first visit to Iran by an Iraqi prime minister since Saddam Hussein's ouster, saying Saturday that a bond with the Shiite Muslim-dominated state was an "inseparable part of Iraq's foreign relations."

Al-Jaafari, heading a delegation that included more than 10 Cabinet ministers, was expected to sign a security agreement while in Iran, where he spent more than a decade in exile while fighting Saddam's forces.
