If that's true that Joe Kennedy was also an American elite who helped bankroll Hitler and build his war machine, then he is to blame too (they're all on the same team). The two families I've heard about are Ford and Bush, which is probably just the tip of the iceberg, as the moneyed-set of American society usually act somewhat in concert in their investments for foreign policy purposes.

You know what I find very interesting about our history is that during the height of the Cold War in the 1960s we engaged in a massive military operation in SE Asia. Reading between the lines, that should tell you just how seriously our leaders actually took the Soviet threat at that time. They couldn't have taken the Soviets that seriously by engaging in the Viet Nam war and weakening our position as a Superpower in the world as an obvious side-effect of our involvement in a hot war. There are even allegations that wealthy American elites helped bankroll the Soviets arms industry in the 1960s and 1970s to prolong the Viet Nam conflict (which would be standard operating procedure for that set).

Not only were they commiting 500K of our young men overseas to a dubious warzone, but they were also commiting a large portion of our military away from the Cold War and our Navy was bombing Soviet supply ships as well. How did this help our Cold War efforts? We were weaker and less determined to fight the Cold War because we were entangled in an unwinnable war and we were also in direct confrontations with the Soviets as a result of this misguided foreign policy. I like to read between the lines of history. This sort of move tells me the Cold War was more or less a farce. Our leaders knew once the A-Bomb was invented the threat of an invasion from the Soviets ended. The Cold War was all for show.

I was thinking a little more about that sham and fiasco known as the Viet Nam War. Utterly incredible that we even engaged in such a terribly misguided war (and the Democrats are mainly to blame). Imagine, as we suppossesly worry every day about a Soviet attack from the east, via Europe, we're acutally sending 500,000 of our young men and a good portion of our military in the exact opposite direction to engage in a very dubious war in SE Asia. What did this do to our defenses in Europe? Could we adquately defend Europe with so many troops commited in a war half way around the world? Could we really have been all that concerned about a Soviet invasion of Europe with such an obviously strategically weak move by sending 500K troops 8,000 miles in the opposite direction? Nope. Just goes to show what a sham Viet Nam and the Cold War really were. Too bad the American people are such dupes and fall for this sort of crap every generation.

One thing I find amazing is that Americans were so worried about Communists killing us in the 1960s. So, what do we do? We go over to SE Asia and ensure that 1,000s of Americans are needlessly killed by Communists. Duh! Brilliant. Like the Viet Namese were actually ever going to go across the Pacific and kill Americans? Not. After we pulled out, they had enough on their hands with other countries surrounding them and their own internal problems.

Now, the same routine is repeated with the arabs. We've spent decades sticking our noses into their business in many ways, and suddenly they strike back. Now, Americans who are worried about the abstract chance of dying at the hands of arab terrorists, are actually dying over in the Middle East and Central Asia at the hands of arab terrorists and their sympathizes, as we deliberately put ourselves in harms way.

The morals to the story? Don't listen to our totally corrupt and self-selving government. They have their own agenda to serve. Stop sticking our noses into other country's business and take care of our own business for a change. Perhaps Americans wouldn't wind up dead if we weren't constantly sticking our noses where they don't belong. It's not like our own country couldn't use more military protection and rebuilding.
